Germany to begin human testing of COVID-19 vaccine in June

Barring any unforeseen circumstances, Germany is set to commence human testing of a possible vaccine for COVID-19.
The testing is expected to take place in Germany in June this year.

The permission to carry out human testing follows the attainment of positive outcomes from the preclinical tests that have been carried out in the past weeks.

This is viewed as significant progress towards the discovery of a vaccine, particularly, as the company spearheading this research was given the green light to start trials of the vaccine in late April.

Disclosing this in a tweet, German Ambassador to Ghana wrote, “biotech company Curevac just announced very positive results in preclinical tests for COVID vaccine. Human testing in Germany will begin in June”
Germany is the latest country to announce that it is getting closer to finding a vaccine after researchers in the United Kingdom earlier made similar pronouncements.
